A father puts his son on the ledge, fifteen feet from he ground. Kid’s about six. The father asks the kid to jump. The kid shakes his head, afraid to make the move. The father tells him not to worry, Daddy’s here and Daddy will catch you. The kid swallows hard, clenches his hands and makes the jump. The father moves out of the way and lets the kid fall to the ground, cuts, bruises, scrapes, what have you. The father bends over and points a finger in the face of his crying boy. And tells him, ‘Remember one thing. In this life, never trust anyone.

Monday’s morning and my legs and butt are aching from the outing I had yesterday with Liren and Weixian. We planned a cycling trip long ago after the last one that we had since two years ago. I must say I had tremendous fun. Liren, as usual was the accident prone one. The last trip, we were cycling thru this grass patch with drains and all, and he was saying, what if we didn’t see and we cycle into the drain and he got what he wished for, haha. Yesterday we reached a slope, rather steep and we decided to do ‘downhill’, but that was before Liren went down. He was the first and he went down without using his brakes and he was shouting with joy all the way down until he started to wheelie after the slope with great speed. And he fell over. Of course it was pain, but it left us all in hoots of laughter, victim included. The journey after that was rather smooth sailing if not for the threatening sky with black clouds. We stopped to eat prata at Clarke quay, and then headed for Kallang River where the 20th river regatta was taking place. It was basically an international, more to national dragon boating event. The course was 300m down the river and it was quite nice to watch until rain started pouring down, so we headed down to esplanade to seek shelter and it was not long before shelter-seeking became playing Frisbee in the underpass. It was quite a nice experience to do something else than breaking in that familiar underpass. We decided to give our final destination, sentosa a skip due to the weather. We headed back to parkway parade to play pool for a while before finally calling it a day and I headed for my grannie’s place for dinner. My eyes were drooping so bad, got so sleepy that I decided to head home early with my bicycle. But upon reaching home, the pool was so inviting that I just wore my shorts and took the plunge. Certainly a great way to relieve all the aches. When I finally got to sleep, I slept like a baby till morning.

My hip injury is still killing me and it pains me not to be able to break, not to mention break to my fullest. I haven flare for three weeks already. The deadline is tml, haiz, but its ok. I got past thinking and brooding about things like that, I just want to get better from my injuries. Without having the bugging thought of improving at the back of my head, Saturday’s session was ok, if not fun. Lost quite a number of moves, but I enjoyed Mahmud’s company and had quite a nice dinner with Larry reminiscing about the past. Sessions at katong mall and chicken rice after that, sessions at change airport with Popeye chicken, sessions at bedok reservoir and basketball after that. Looking back, we could be lousy as can be, but we had fun, Larry couldn’t agree more. After breaking, I decided to go home a little earlier. Broke my record for top speed, heh. I was on the ecp. when I saw two CBR400 playing with each other. So I tried to join in by cutting past them, but they must have thought what the fuck is this small little bike doing with the big boys so they left me alone. But on my way of cutting them, I didn’t see this blue KR in front of a van that I drove past. When I drove past him, he must have thought that I did it on purpose, and not long after, he appeared on my side mirror and cut past me. I did the same only to wait for him in front. And when I saw him catching up, I dropped gear to increase speed so that we are side by side. The traffic was a little heavy, but of course if none of us stopped, the other wouldn’t. at first he was moving faster than me, pulling a little away slightly from me, that was until I realized that I still had another gear left, with the needle reaching the red zone on gear five, I changed to gear six and kazumi surprised me with this sudden burst of speed to blitz the KR by to smelling my smoke. I was like wah, shiok, kazumi can go some more, until I glanced down at the speedometer and couldn’t find the needle anywhere. A second look made me realized the needle was at the last quarter of the meter that I had never ventured before. 170km/h and I decided to slow down. The KR slowed down seeing my reduction in speed. Surprisingly, even at 170km/h, kazumi was very stable and the purring perfect. Sorry kazumi, I haven washed you for a week, cause of cycling yesterday. But not to worry dear, I go and update my passport photo, and then we shall make a trip to Malaysia to service you along with nas’s RXZ. After which I promise to give you a nice coat of polish ok?

So tired now, I think I can sleep for a week straight.
